2025 CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence Winners Named
VICTORIA, BC – May 15, 2025 – The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) announced the winners of the 2025 CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence, Canada’s premiere competition for new homes, home renovations, community development, and residential marketing. Winners were presented in Victoria, British Columbia as the grand finale event of CHBA’s Home Building Week in Canada.

The competition once again had a record-breaking year; small and large businesses from across Canada submitted over 1000 entries. Nearly 300 volunteer industry experts evaluated entries based on project descriptions, images, and other supporting information such as floor plans included in the submission packages.

The competition has 48 categories to capture various new housing types, sizes, and price points. Eligible projects can be for homeownership or rental. Two categories for Net Zero Homes showcase top projects from CHBA’s Net Zero Home Labelling Program, which has been operating since 2015. The competition also includes categories for home renovations at various price points and recognizes the best in residential marketing endeavours.

In addition to the 48 main categories, three awards are given for best overall performance.

Jayman BUILT in Calgary took home the Design Excellence Award for the fourth year in a row. The award is given to the company that has the best cumulative results in the new homes and new home spaces categories. They won in three new home categories and one marketing category in addition to the Design Excellence Award.

The Renovation Excellence Award for best overall performance in the home renovation categories was awarded this year to Vicky’s Homes, a custom home builder and renovator in Edmonton. The company won four home renovation award categories in addition to the best-overall accolade for renovations and also picked up a marketing award.

The Marketing Excellence Award for overall success in marketing categories was presented to Devron Developments in North York, ON. In addition to the best overall award, their project “101 Spadina,” with II BY IV DESIGN and Gladstone Media, won in two marketing categories.

“Our national awards program always showcases the best of the best, and we are very proud of this year’s finalists and winners. Members of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association are pushing to advance Canada’s housing industry on so many fronts, and this competition is a great demonstration of the homes and communities that are developed, built, and renovated across the country,” said CHBA CEO Kevin Lee.

But we have found through a recent industry survey and targeted interviews that this leadership hasn’t fully extended to existing buildings.
