Window Condensation – Outside, Inside and Between Panes.

Condensation on the Home Exterior, Outside of the Window

Condensation Outside

If you see condensation on the outside of your window panes, it’s an indication that the air outside contains mild humidity and warmer then the temperature of your window glass. This means that the window is blocking any heat from transferring through the glass from inside the home. Condensation that appears on the outside of your window, is a strong indication that the window system itself has high insulating properties. This may be more visible in the early morning hours of the day.

Condensation on Inside of the Window

Condensation Inside

Too much moisture and the accumulation of water in your residence can effect your house and the well-being of your family. The presence of moisture creates an ideal environment for the proliferation of mould and mildew. Mould and mildew usually manifest on the walls near or beneath your windows, exhibiting as small black spots or a grey haze. This is a serious problem and new, improved thermal performance windows, should be installed along with a home inspection for proper ventilation.

Condensation between Window Panes

Between Panes Condensation

Sometimes condensation between panes can be remedied, but more often then not,  the fog will indicate a more serious problem that can only be solved with a new set of windows. Double and triple-glazed windows are designed to provide insulation for your home. The window frame is responsible for securing the panes while creating gaps in between. These gaps are filled with an insulating gas and then sealed tightly to prevent air leakage.

Investing in new windows will not only upgrade your home’s curb appeal but more importantly, energy efficiency and security. It is uncommon for a single investment to have such a significant impact on your home and family. Please click on the following link to navigate to view our window page.
